Our Staff

Dick Strom, a lifelong Bainbridge resident has spent his entire professional career serving the automotive collision and mechanical needs of his many Bainbridge-North Kitsap customers.  For the past decade Dick has also written monthly collision repair articles that appear in many national trade periodicals and Webpages, as well as some in Australia and Canada. 
 
Bobbi Strom, a Washington state resident since 1963, married Dick in 1969.  Together they opened and have operated MCR for the past three decades.  Bobbi brought her previous banking skills and systematic organization into the office, creating a smooth-flowing system of paperwork that assures you of a seamless repair experience.   
 
Micah Strom, Dick and Bobbi’s older son, is manager of our mechanical division and our chief mechanical service writer.  Having spent his earlier years in our collision business, following high school Micah attended Universal Technical Institute in Arizona to pursue a career in mechanical repair.  For several years thereafter, Micah supplemented his growing mechanical knowledge by working in other mechanical shops, before settling down with ours.  The years of professional hands-on mechanical experience and electronic diagnostic ability Micah possesses are the perfect complement in establishing MCR as your one-stop-auto-repair-shop.
 
Aaron Strom, Dick and Bobbi’s younger son, as well as being our head painter, is manager of our collision division.  Like Micah, Aaron has grown up in the collision trade, and following high school, soon found his niche in our refinish department.  Aaron keeps ahead of the newest in refinish trends and materials, and additionally has won numerous awards for his body and refinish abilities on antique vehicles and street rods.  His body and paintwork have been winners at Goodguys Street Rod exhibitions, plus featured in national car magazines, and Snap-On and AC Delco calendars.  Aaron takes the same pride and effort in refinishing each vehicle repaired by Modern Collision Rebuild.       
 
Brenda Dority, along with her many other office duties, is our office secretary.  With eight years of automotive office experience, Brenda is well prepared and willing to answer any questions you might have concerning your vehicle repair, how to deal with insurers, and the like.      
 
Mike Richman one of our two experienced estimators, has been working with or around cars for 15 years, 9 of those years in collision repair estimating.  Next to his wife, the love of Mike’s life is fishing and making the best tasting BBQ and BBQ sauce imaginable.  Mike’s thoroughness assures your vehicle will be repaired correctly, the first time.
 
Scott Youngs, our other estimator, worked at local auto parts dealers before entering auto collision estimating 17 years ago.  Like Mike Richman, Scott possesses the right balance of negotiating skills needed to deal effectively with insurance representative to bring your vehicle back as close as humanly possible to pre-accident condition.  In his spare time, Scott enjoys trap shooting, and being active in the Bainbridge Sportsmen Club. 
 
Morgan Alexander is the girl behind the friendly smile and sweet voice that greets most of our customers.  As office receptionist, Morgan will make you feel at home while assisting you in filling out any needed paperwork pertinent to the repair of your vehicle.     
 
Paul Wilson has been one of our collision repair and frame technicians since 1989.  Paul started out in mechanical and collision repair at an early age, and has made this his life-long career.  His years and experience in this industry have helped to establish and maintain Modern Collision’s reputation in the community.        
 
Tim Ruck brings to MCR 21years of collision repair experience and know-how.  Starting in California at an early age, and working in several collision shops previously, Tim began working for us in 1995, and has played a leading role in maintaining our reputation of top-quality repairs in a timely manner.   
 
Brian Gormanson started with us soon after high school in 1995.  From an early age Brian has enjoyed small engine mechanics, and briefly worked as a dealership detailer, before joining our staff.  Beginning by doing a little of everything around the shop, he has since established himself as one of the reasons our mechanical repairs are so well received.  
 
Monty Cooper honed his mechanical abilities on F18 aircraft while in the Navy, also gaining certification in the repair of computers through night school courses.  Monty then worked four years in an automotive mechanical shop before hiring on with us in 2002.  Monty is one of our top mechanics, and also keeps our computers maintained and running. 
 
David Curry, one of our mechanics since 2003, is presently also taking courses to become a helicopter pilot and aviation mechanic.  A good man with tools, Dave performs general mechanical repairs on many of the vehicles that regularly come to us needing mechanical repairs.
 
Keith Nichols, Taylor Anderson and Mike Ashley, among other responsibilities, are our detail specialists, responsible for making sure your vehicle leaves our shop cleaned and vacuumed following repairs.  Each of these young men has prior automotive interests and experience, and show potential to expand their abilities.  Mike is attending the automotive mechanical and collision courses offered at the former Bremerton Skills Center, and wants to make his future in building street rods.
